Proclaimed as “SkiTown USA”, Steamboat Springs and nearby Steamboat Ski Resort are located in northwest Colorado, 160 miles from Denver. Steamboat’s top elevation is on Mt. Werner, just over 10,550 feet high, allowing for a total vertical rise of more than 3,660 feet.

The oldest continually operating ski facility in Colorado, Howelsen Hill is a specialty ski area owned by the City of Steamboat Springs. It’s open to the public, but is most widely known for its ski jumping facilities serving Olympic hopefuls. With 17 alpine trails and nine cross-country trails it’s a fun and historic place to check out – especially for those who would like to rub shoulders with future and current Olympians!
